Silveil: the land of lights and budding stardom. Of dreams being made and spirits being broken. 

Firefly has dreamt of coming to a place just like this ever since he was a young kit. Getting out of that sleepy farm town and hopping on a wagon to Silveil was the best thing he’d ever done in his short life. 

The surrounding forests were, admittedly, a wonder to behold. He had been absolutely enchanted by the curious glowing flora he’d seen on the way into the center of the region. Someone told him something on the caravan, a warning about straying too deep within the unmarked forests and the dangers of the creatures that lurk behind the ethereal beauty and of travelers that never return from their journeys, but he shook them off. How could something so pretty be so bad?

The Starlake, too, was its own wonder. He never knew trees could actually grow underwater. When he gazed down into the water’s depths for the first time, he wondered if the tree was truly there, or if it was just an illusion. He kind of wanted to dive in and check for himself. The floating pinpricks of light that he originally mistook for stars made the idea all the more tempting.

But nothing could compare to the heart of the city itself. Bright lights, large crowds, ever-present music and chatter and singing and life. Everything there just looked so… big! Not just in a physical sense, given his naturally small size at the time, but in a more metaphorical way - like he was just one drop of water in the ocean of names and faces that swarmed the streets around him. To some, that may seem lonely, but to him, it meant giving his ambitions a reason to flourish and placing meaning on his life.

He vowed to one day see his name among the glittering lights plastered on the sides of the city buildings no matter what it takes.
