In Silveil, the lands are always dark, the night skies twinkling with the stars that seem to wink at the souls below. The deep forests of Silveil are even more resplendent in the eternal night’s gloom. The flora and fauna all glow with bioluminescence; it is truly a sight to behold. Each dancing wisp, every haunting whisper of the wind draws one closer to the embrace of the forest. The fireflies flit around with their small glowing bodies, and the plants of the forest seem to breathe and sigh together in unison, all a part of a living whole. Although it is beautiful, when one passes through the forest, one must always remain on the lined path, for the dangers that abound are not to be taken lightly. Many things hide amongst these dense trees and underneath the trunks of the fallen, eagerly awaiting an unwitting passerby to wander too close. In the dark, yet ethereal, haze of the region, the forest itself has moments of treachery, where the roots of the trees have torn open the ground in cliffs and chasms, swallowing whichever foolish adventurer treads too close to the edge. However, if one manages to walk into the small pockets of clearings amongst the trees, the skies are magnificent. Looking up, the skies seem alive with the glowing and winking of so many lights, each of them seemingly flirting with anyone who looks at them, making the treacherous journey worth it. Silveil’s night skies allow one to feel as if the entire universe could be seen, like peeping through a crack in the fabric of time and space. For firstcomers, they always gape up at the skies in awe, feeling so small in the face of a universe so large and divine. And if one is fortunate enough to come across the Starlake, there, they find the beauty of the universe captured in the sheen of the lake’s surface. The tiny jellyfish in the lake dart back and forth in a soothing path of light that the eye follows with delight.
